Hot Chocolate Pancake

Updated: Dec 7, 2018

This recipe inspired from the chocolate taste. As I like hot chocolate this pancake is really tasty for my breakfast. But, what to say it not an everyday breakfast.

Well, I found this recipe from #Pinterest. But, I did some twist from the original recipe. Reduce the quantity of sugar, mix flour with oats and substitute whole milk to low lactose milk.

Hot chocolate pancake is ultra rich and chocolaty, just like hot cocoa should be! Enjoy the pancake while its still hot.

The pancakes are thick and tender and super easy which only take less then 30 minutes. Wake up a bit early and take the time to prepare your own delicious breakfast. As a chocoholic, this recipe satisfies all my cravings instantly.

How to make

Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp flour with 3 Tbsp oat

  • 2 Tbsp Cocoa Powder

  • 1 Tbsp granulated sugar

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • Pinch of salt

  • 1/8 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 medium egg

  • 100 ml low lactose milk

  • 1 tbsp blended oil.

In a large bowl whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. In a medium bowl whisk together the egg, milk, and oil.

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently stir until just combined. Do not overmix, it’s okay to have lumps. At this point the batter can rest, covered, for up to 30 minutes. But if you are running late take about 5 minutes for batter to rest.

Heat an r a large nonstick pan to medium heat. Pour batter by 1/4 cup onto the hot pan, spacing apart. Cook until the edges are set and bubbles have formed on the top, about 2 to 3 minutes. Gently flip and cook for 1 to 2 minutes, or until done.

Stack pancakes on plates and top with 1 tbsp natural honey if you need extra sweet. I absolutely will make this pancake again and again.
